Hey guys.
seeing as my VLCT has been off the road for almost 2 years, paying rego and insurance is just meaningless, so i decided to fix the head gasket. (thanks to kylevlct as he recently started his)
now, i'm running a stocker n/a bottom end and head.
front mount cooler, turbo injectors and ecu, highflo t3.
once it is on the road again, it will be getting a 3" turbo back exhaust.
the other bit of important information is, the car will be put back together WITH the turbo for the next 18 months, and then be returned to a N/A vehicle (brother wants it while he is on his P's)
firstly, i will be looking at a cometec head gasket, and ARP head studs, any suppliers of these parts in SE Melbourne, or Werribee area? general places don't have them unfortunatly, saw them on ebay, but im not too trusting.
second question, what thickness head gasket shall i use? what is the closest to stock thickness?
thirdly, while the head is off, what other things should i do?
planning to do the water pump, and get the head freshened up, anything else?
lastly, a Crow TX1 cam, usable with a stock turbo ecu? or scrap the idea?

while the head is off do the water pump check over all your coolant hoses some can be a bitch with manifolds on.
yeh stuff like head studs and gaskets id stay away from the cheaper stuff.... im running head bolts still witch i got from the engine shop the did the machine work on my block when i built it.
as for the cam im running a wade stage 2 street cam on a stock 3tm ecu with no issues at all.
an for the head gasket im running 2 stock gaskets witch i know is not the best way to do it but its all i could get on a sunday, any way 36,000km later head gasket it going great and im running between 15-25psi boost

Stock genuine Nissan head gasket never had problems with a genuine gasket

Use a cometic headgasket 1.3mm is standard thickness and arp studs, will be fine on 20psi. I've heard good and bad things about stock Nissan headgaskets, as long as it doesn't over heat it should be sweet. But at least with a cometic you it will be sweet n/a or turbo
