Hey guys, I've long promised a write up and detailed photos on my dad's build. I'll be brief and add the story and details later. (and I'll get dad to fill in some gaps.) This car was found on a northern VIC farm in late 2012. the car was purchased by my mother as a gift for dad for his birthday. when he got it home he instamtly started pulling it down and he gave me a long list of parts required to get it up to scratch. I added a few parts of my own to his wishlist and the story begins. The car had obviously been sitting outside in a dry / sunny environment for a hell of a long time. theres sunburn on the drivers seat, the dash top has faded, clear coat has deteriorated and hilariously one of the sunvisors had obviously been down and one up. the one which had been down had completely burned away and was all cracked and black. On the upside it was a runner, a reasonable price and ticked a lot of dads list. mainly that it hadn't been tampered with. wobble free great nick steering wheel, tacho dash and the original tape deck were all still fitted. engine bay was complete and tidy and it didn't have any evident rust. once in dad's hands he started on all of the basics. clean clean clean, sfull service, timing chain all of that. I sourced lots of parts, disc rear end conversions, sunnies holder and highrise, cargo trims, new cargo carpet, clean washer bottle, sunvisors that arent blackened, genuine mudflaps, genuine headlight covers, unbroken or warped bumpers and trims, VT brake booster and M/C, new chrome weatherstrips and tonnes of other nuts, bolts, etc. the end result is a car which runs pretty sweet and for all f it's "patina" presents incredibly well. It's begging for a nice turbo conversion, turbo hubcaps and lowered suspension. Heres some happy snaps. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

very hard life. but it'll come up looking OK with patina you couldn't (and wouldn't) pay for. it was a bit up there in purchase pric but it'll be a nice project and with a heap of parts replaced and cleaned and some freshening i recon it'll present well with ots of battle scars on the paint to tell it's story.
