Aftermarket fuel gauge and sensor in standard tank

Hey guys. I'm looking at making a full custom dash, I have a autometer cobalt fuel gauge that is 230 ohms empty and 33 ohms full. What I want to know is can I get an aftermarket sensor to go in my standard tank to suit the guage. Can this be done? Thanks people.
