Hey guys I have a genuine 88 calais turbo in amazing conditon.
It has 220000km on the clock and has been in storage for 6 years but for insurance and also
Possible sale intrest I need some expert advice on what my car is worth.
I have been keeping a eye on prices and as it sits the ball park figuere is around the $17000 mark, so please any help would be very much appreciated!
That's a lot of kms, and when you say amazing condition... there is amazing 'uleh' vs amazing.. amazing.
I don't think you'll get 17k for it if it's like most calais out there, but if it's got a complete series 2 grey interior that is unmarked, no rips, no dints in panels and the plastics aren't faded or cracked it may fetch 16k.
Stock or molested? A1 condition interior? Paint? Rust? Been in storage for insurance?
It's worth what somebody will pay,is usually the only suitable answer, 17 seems ridiculous to me, but somebody else may see the value in it.
Advertise it and see if you get any bites.
K's dont mean much you can tell allot more about a car by the condition its in obviously, but more so how it feels to drive.
6 months back I bought a rough (few little dints here n their n a little rust missing some plastics n needs a respray for) 87 calais turbo converted to MX7, with 189,000 on the clock for 3k.
I bought an immaculate example of an 88 N/A calais with 200,ks on the clock for 6k and the way it felt to drive, it would give most vl's knocking on 100,ks a run for their money.
Beautiful example. If i was pricing a vl, id forget about k's. It takes 10 mins to change a vl cluster and make up a bull story while your at it..
Oh.. and you didn't mention "stock" once.
Post up some pics mate.
Useless thread without pictures, 17k is more then likely wishful thinking..
Your mint condition might be my thrashed, so pics will help. What about mods? Hacked up parcel or door trims for hectic speakers?
