Hay. Every time i go out i throw a powersteering belt, Its getting really annoying as last time it took out my CAS wires also. Its an RB30 block, RB30 pump on RB30 bracket using a 3PK875, i dont see what could be wrong? one pop on limiter and its off anyone had this problem?

Could the pulley be bent or buckled

Try a new belt and tighten it some more.

Are you getting good purchase on the thread the whole way down for the pivot bolt? Mine was a bit ****ed out at the start of the thread at the female end, so only a little bit of the thread was being torqued up. A longer bolt fixed it for me...

RB30 twin cam in 180SX, cant get manual rack pullys are in good working order. the bolts seem good, everything does it tight, onto my 4th belt now as i loose them or they get mashed up by the fan. If i cant get it fixed before the next track day im going to go electric powersteer and be done with it!

I have the same problem with mine, your pullies will be straight but will be slightly out of alignment of each other and will throw belts.

Put a washer between the mounting to space it out further

i picked up a different pump on a cast iron bracket, see how that goes tomorrow.

so looks like the cast iron one fixed the problem.. the pump sits like 3-4mm more out then the steel plate one.. a mate had the same problem after fitting a ross ballancer. had to oval the holes and move the pump out.. im guessing there is 2 different harmonic balances and the ross balances are made to suit the pump i have now.
