cams and stall converters

hi, have been looking at cams and some say they wont work with stock converter, they need a higher stall. whats that all about? have people have said cos my motor is a high comp would be better with a higher lift cam. but the cams i look at say i cant use'm with my stock turbo auto. can someone clue me in a bit on how the cam afects the auto.?

It will work what they mean is the bigger cam will have a crap power band down low so stock converter wont work as well as a bigger converter to get it up on boost

well i was thinkin of camtech 517-114 or wade 818b or crow cam txm. would any of these be alright to use with the stock converter i had been recomended to go a bit bigger with the higher comp motor. or should i go with some thing a bit smaller to suit stock converter
