Hi, a mate of mine wants to go ls turbo with standard engine. I told him to stick with the ls1 with stock cam just with springs and a few other mods! he wants to buy an ls2 what's the difference between the two? and what's recommended?

Ether will work great.... LS1 is probably easier & cheaper to get hold of...? LS2 has a few more cubes, 90mm TB, slightly better heads, slightly bigger cam, they are a nice piece... LS3.. BOOM!! the next step up again..... Would be my choice if I was to do again! Have fun!

ls2 has higher comp. stock ls1 with head studs and valve springs would be fine

L98 way to go, they have much better flowing heads and will make 1000+hp with standard ports.

I'm with madazz if your on a budget - thats all thats needed to make good power, obviously a fuel system to support the power to go with it.
