Hey guys, A mate of mine has a 180SX and recently blew his motor! I suggested that he does the conversion instead of doin a full rebuild on his SR20? It's already on E85 but will need injectors and fuel rail! RB25 motor and box $3500 Clutch $650 Injectors and fuel rail $1200 Haltech E6x $700 Tune $ ?? I reckon it would be a great car for the street and track because that what his after taking into account he needs relibility. Will it be the way to or do you guys suggest some ideas!

I believe you need a GTS-T front crossmember as well?

All manual cross members from R31 To VL line up to the same holes ive been told, im yet to do the manual conversion in mine. My 33 box came out of a VLT that already had the conversion done, but with trying to fit a 33 box ina 180 is a tad harder! Anyone done this exact conversion and would be able to give some advice and a power figure rough rwkw estimate with mods listed above in the first post

you can talk about anything you like in a 180SX Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

^Haha. You'd be looking anywhere from 200-250rwkw if you used a factory turbo (can't push much more than factory boost though them), but you'd want to change it seen as you're doing the ecu and injectors. By the time you do all the work, plus an exhaust and muck around with the driveshaft you have to wonder wether it'd worth it-it's going to be far more expensive, and wouldn't handle the same as an sr due to the weight (i would assume). Just drop another sr in it, or rebuild the current one and forge it. They're good motors, and you can pump a lot of power out of them.

I've been considering buying a rolling shell 180 and dropping in my 26. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Do an LS1 - lighter than an RB. You can buy conversion kits from the US (even for right hand drive 180sx/240sx) - a tad expensive though. If that much money is an issue he might be better off sticking with the SR as previously stated.
