ive just brought a garrett 35/40 setup and realised that the turbo dosnt have a pressure port on it...does this mean i cant use my e-boost2 as the turbo pressure port is meant to go to one of the ports on the solanoid?...or is there a way of still using it without the pressure port on turbo?
can i drill and tap a thread and install a pressure port on the turbo?
can someone please help me, surely someone has been in the same situation, no pressure port but running a e-boost2
so basically the vaccum line that would go from the turbo to the solanoid, what do i do with that part as i have no turbo pressure port
cheers marc

it states that it has to go to a boost pressure source...could i weld a pressure port in my intercooler piping on the turbo side, would that still work?

you can drill and tap a 90 degree elbow on the compressor housing near the outlet
You can see one in this pic, dont use a plastic one though, use brass or speedflow..
Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

couldnt you just get boost from the manifold somewhere

Use one from your inlet manifold! same same

nope your not allowed to connect the turbo line to the intake manifold...problem solved anyway, found a pressure port on ebay that goes on the silicon join to the turbo anyway so all good...cheers guys

ok
You want to put it as close to the throttle body as possible due to pressure drop through your intercooler and pipe work

r u talking about the inlet throttlebody off the manifold or some other one. im putting the port on the silicon join that joins onto the turbo front housing that then runs to the intercooler-not the pod filter part

Yes the throttle body off the intake manifold
You want it in between the intercooler and the throttle body.

09-08-13, 09:27 GMT+10#12 The eboost guage takes its reading from the intake manifold
the solenoid runs hoses from your compressor cover and wastegate
simply just weld on a fitting or drill n tap a fitting into the comp cover

09-08-13, 12:09 GMT+10#13 Connect the three ports on the e-Boost2 solenoid according
to the diagram below.
- Port (1) vents pressure from the e-Boost2
solenoid. Connect this hose to the intake side of
the turbo, between the air cleaner and the inlet of
the turbocharger. Otherwise connect a short
piece of the silicon hose and face the vent
downwards to stop water or debris entering the
solenoid. If you have removed a factory boost
control solenoid connect this hose to where the
factory solenoid originally vented.
- Port (2) Connects to the internal waste gate
actuator (See above if your actuator has two inlet
fittings)
- Port (3) Connects to a “boost only” pressure
source, typically from the compressor housing on
the turbocharger If your turbocharger does not
have this fitting, connect to a “boost only”
pressure source before the throttle-body or
butterfly. Do not connect to the intake manifold,
as the pressure signal will have both vacuum and
boost pressure.
