Can anyone shed some light on the strut tops (bearings in particular) if they are an "all-in-one" type replacement. Meaning the whole top/plate/bearing etc. or you can get the bearing out and replace only it. (looking closely looks like its kinda moulded in there) My bearing sounds horrible and is very gritty, and i will want to replace it but I'm not sure if i need one of these bad boys http://www.nolathane.com.au/product_...t_number=44001 (http://www.nolathane.com.au/product_detail.php?part_number=44001) Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

**** of a job ---------- Post added 07-09-16 at 17:22 ---------- http://www.calaisturbo.com.au/showthread.php?t=133678 There is some information in there. Pertinent points are to crack the nut while car is on ground (as it is easier than when strut is removed) and use good quality spring compressors to compress the spring before completely removing top nut otherwise tension in spring will be released suddenly and do some damage (stay out of line of fire). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uUgUsBcw0ec

Do you reckon this will work? http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Professio...AOSwpdpVWt6 n (http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Professional-380mm-38cm-Coil-Spring-Compressor-Installer-Remover-Car-Truck-Tool-/171794820751?hash=item27ffc4ee8f:g:m8UAAOSwpdpVWt6n)

I had them, and looked like they would work, they compressed the spring nicely, but I didnt have a wrench or socket big enough to get the top nut off, and by then i was kinda over it so just took it to an exhaust/suspension shop basically to undo- the nut but ended up getting them to swap over the top hat and all that.
