power steering for vl v8

hi guys i just purchased a vl calais 5.0l and has no power steering. it has a vn rack in it and vn pump(i believe) but i was told the vn lines dont clear the pacemaker extractors. can anyone point me in th eright direction to what lines Will fit? cheers

VL V8 lines, maybe VK or you could get a VL manual rack or ask a power steering shop to have a look and get some lines made up.

VN power steering rack will clear the pacemakers,In fact they are better than the VL rack as the power steering connections are further round than the VL rack.Aso because of this the rack lines will not heat up as much as the standard rack lines. Cheers Marty

If you have the original VL ones they will fit with a bit of tweeking. Try a wreaker if not.High pressure side is the hardest to adjust. When you do the low pressure side put a joint in it in an easy place so you can change your fluid with out to much hassel. Cheers Marty

Yeah ok, good idea with the low pressure line. I converted from RB30 to 308 so the lines are different I think. Will try a wrecker and see how I go but I think ill need to get a hose shop to make some up for me. Do you know if all commodore racks from VK through VS have the same thread on the rack connections?
