hi there everyone. thought i would put up my project that i am doing at the moment. i got this vc sl off my girlfriends dad for 500 bucks, interior is mint and the colour i wanted, so i had to have it. i am in the steps of doing a bare metal respray and have been stripping the car. i will be going ls1with a turbo 400 behind it and i have a 9 inch ready to go in. the engine will be pretty standard at first to pass engineers and road worthy but then will be doing heads and cam, if not i will chuck a snail on it. if anyone has any tips or hints to help me with the conversion that would be great. any way here are some pics. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Is that some sort of killrust on the roof in the pic where it looks resprayed? Have you done it before?? (bare metal respray) Its a massive job! After removing the paint and cleaning the car, theres the primer.. Then the highfill! Have fun sanding that mate, WILL TAKE FOREVER! Lol. Use a guid coat with the highfill, dont half ass it. This will assure you sand it back evenly.

Yeah it's just some black paint to seal the metal before we prime it. My mate is a panel beater and his dad is an old school panel beater and they are doing it all and a professional is painting. Will be done right. But cheers for the info.
