Hi guys any help would be good for what im about to ask cheers.
Ive got a vl sedan and ive just fitted a rb20det manual into it, it wont start by key so i have to bridge the wire across the plug near brakebooster. I got the missing cable the goes from the small plug near brakebooster to gearbox for reverse lights etc now and it still doesnt start with the key, ive also unplugged the auto computer under the kickpanel on drivers side.
its running rb20det computer and the vls dash loom etc has been connected to the loom properly

Prob the neutral switch, 2 big purple wires near your battery need to be joined.
Yeah it was factory auto, when i turn the key on the lights on the dash come on etc but nothing happens when i turn it to start it.
Ive been using a peice of wire to brigde the plug near the brakebooster, isnt that doing the same thing as joinning the two purple wires?
maybe, im not sure whats at the brake booster. If it was auto and you have not joined the 2 wires at the battery i would be doing so before trying anything else.

Have you sorted this yet ? You are unplugging the relays and bridging in the plug not the relay base right ?
na not yet, i cut the purple wires because ive got a spare one and joined them then pluged it back into the relay. still doesnt start and i unplugged the auto computer thats above your legs in the drivers seat. driving me nuts having to get out and opening the bonnet to bridge the wires in order to start it, was at kumeu the whole weekend with it
The relays with the purple wires shoud be a double set up ? Yea . Those relays unplug as a pair not jus removing the relays but unplug the little relay loom and bridge the two purple wires there . That should do it . If not have you got a test light ? Find the purple wire on the ignition switch and follow it through the firewall and where it goes towards those relays cut it and send it straight to the stater . I'm sure by you bridging the wire near the booster it's triggering the relays ? ie the relays are still plugged as normal when you are bridgeing near the booster .
