External fuel pump!

G'day guys bit of a silly question my vl turbo"s external fuel pump is very noisy just wondering if that's normal! Also my vl struggles to idle 1 minute it's 1500rpm next minute it's 500 rpm Amy info greatly appreciated

All are somewhat noisy but if it's something out of the norm you should be able to tell. Just find someone with a fuel pressure gauge to measure pressure at fuel feed line and rail connection. 200kpa I think it's the norm when the car is off ????
