Heyy guys i am currently in the process of installing a gt35 and a AVO Low mount manifold to my car however i dont want to modify the brand new AVO manifold! So i have been looking at adapting the turbosmart 48mm progate to the housing of the turbo! What are your opinions on this? Where is the best place in sydney to get this done seeing as though welding cast is not as simple as regular mig/tig welding? So i heard...

im not sure if there is enough room down there, i was considering the same thing with my stock manifold.

Maybe ask rbfrog who owns sears automotive..i reckon i saw a pic of him doing something like that on a customers car on his facebook page cheers darren

Hey mate i had mine done by gcg in condell park. Although mine was a top mount, not sure how you'd go with space as already mentioned.

I have a rear housing mod on my low mounted GT3082R on the side of an RB30DET in a 180SX, room is very tight in that car so im sure in a larger VL bay you will get it. And Leigh at Extreme turbo manifolds did the rear housing mod, isnt he in syd?

hey dimi did u end up getting that manifold i told u about or is this another and it should fit ash bought a set up like it and its low mount with wastegate off housing talk to him he might send u a pic and im sure Ariel would do it as he does a really nice job with standard manifold

Thanks for the help and info guys i really appreciate it! Yeh i took a few more measurements and dummied up the turbo, manifold and wastgate and it will be without a doubt very tight a might be a lil complex but i dont think it will be impossible.. Would a progate 48 be to big for my application?

The manifold i got looks pretty much like a standard vlt one but its stainless steel cast... I dont want to have the WG visible hence why i want my setup to be like the pic above! Yeh i might give ariel a buzz and see what he says..

i looked on ebay at that china manifold and it says they are a direct replacement for stock. the avo are the same too so u should be able to do it. id get leigh from etm to do it, he knows what hes doing..!

Yehh i just spoke to Leigh and he definately sounds like he knows what he is doin.. Not to mention his xr6 turbo ute runs a gateon housing aswell... He quoted me 150 to do.. Just gotta find mark it up for him and find the time to had down to dapto and get it done.. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.
