Hey guys, recently I inherited in a swap a vl calais turbo, everything works perfectly except when you turn the key even to accessory you get a weird " whirring noise" I thought it was the fuel pump on its way out its quite high pitched but open to suggestions Also..... This is the one that drives me crazy.... When you actually start the car it makes a rattling In the engine bay, at first I though it was the acc cable hitting the rocker... It's not It almost sounds like a screw bouncing in the exhaust but hitting the mesh at the cat, it only does it when it first starts or is at really low speeds and you just tap the accelerator. Is it possibly the lifters??? Any help appreciated i can post a video if it helps

it could be the lifters if you have run the car low on oil

Oil is all good, thought the lifters may have just been rooted in general

That whirring noise could be your timing belt tensioner. Grab a hose & use it as a stethoscope to pin point where the rattle is.
