Hey guys im quite new to these forumns so i dont know if this has been coverd yet.
Theres a whineing sound coming from the gearbox/rear engine area. You can start it but after about 15 seconds the whineing comes in, revs dont change anything the motor just gets louder and covers the sound. when i push the clutch in it changes sound but is still there.
Its a Turbo vl box (mx7?) hooking upto an NA RB30 motor and NA clutch not to sure if the flywheel is NA or not. The gearbox clicks fine and runs through the gears nicely.
Cheers for your time

EDIT: Its definitely coming from the box. pulled slave out and you can hear it coming from inside there.

does it go away when clutch pedal is depressed?
Nope its there. doesnt matter if the clutch is in or not just changes to a heavier sound if it is in. The motor has had a complete rebuild and has a stage 2 camtech cam if that helps.

Problem has been found. Old boy found that when he took the oil cap off there was that much pressure inside the engine that he had to yank the oil cap to get it to come apart. pretty sure its the vaccum lines that pushed to much air into the motor or somthing like that. anyways cheers for your help xash-
