Vl vk boot light

Hi I was wanted to know how the boot light works What sets it off and on

There's a spring loaded switch behind the LHS hinge from memory. Open bootlid, hinge presses the switch against the contacts, lets' +12V contact the globe, which is already in contact with -12V.

I thought it was a little elf in there pushing the on/off switch.
