Skids for a Great Cause.

OK we can tell you that this event to be known as the Oamps Skids For Kids will go ahead at DECA on Saturday 16th February 2013 and that ALL Proceeds will be donated to the Children's Ward at Goulburn Valley Health. Skids For Kids will be open to ALL road registered cars no matter what engine size just as long as they pass a basic scrutiny inspection. A Show N Shine will also be part of the day at a cost of $20.00 per car and all are welcome. Major Awards for both Best Men's Burnout as well as Best Women's Burnout include a 5 night accommodation and airfares for each or the winners to the Gold Coast plus add to this 20 $100 gift vouchers for the runners up and we are sure that more will be added to this collection as we get closer to the event. Awards will also be presented to the best of show displays within the Show N Shine. Full catering will be available onsite, so come help us and get behind this fantastic event and show your support to the Kids that need it most. Thanks must also go out to all that are helping in staging this event and they include, Greater Oamps Insurance Brokers, Shepparton City Council, Southern Cross Austereo, Autofest Car Festivals and DECA Training. Entry Forms will be available soon at all leading automotive outlets within the region as well at the 95.3FM Office.

Entry Forms will be available soon at all leading automotive outlets within the region as well at the 95.3FM Office After discussions with the event insurer we have come up with a agreement to allow some unregisted cars to enter the 2013 Skids For Kids. These will only be allowed on the following conditions. Scrutineering Requirements For Burnout Competitors! Drivers License, Entrants must have current drivers License Brakes: good pedal, no leaks, operating handbrake. Wheels: all wheel nuts must be fitted. No wheel weights on drive rims. Steering: no free play, no over stressed u-joints, clearance on all parts. Suspension: no solid mounts, must have shocks, no excessive bump steer. Seats: secure anchorage points covered. Seatbelts: at all seating positions and in good condition. Glass: good visibility - no broken glass Engine: no fuel or oil leaks return spring on carby or throttle body, secure battery anchorage and radiator catch can. Body: no sharp or dangerous protrusions, no rust, structural damage or loose body panels, all cars must have a floor pan. Entrant sticker: must be on car before leaving scrutineering Burnout cars: must have all the above plus tail shaft loop Except if a two piece shaft is fitted, fire extinguisher and a crash helmet Tyres: No competition Slick Tyres are to be used ONLY D.O.T. / Vic Roads approved treaded competition and road tyres will be allowed. NO RETREADS! All participating cars MUST be neat in appearance and NOT purpose built speedway or demolition cars etc IN OTHER WORDS NO PADDOCK BASHERS OR SIMILAR!
