Hey got a vt 304 engine that i have in a hilux 4x4 and am looking at running a small turbo for instant responce and low down torque and dont require top end power. looks like im going to remote mount it under the tray as im running out of room in engine bay. Will this effect size of turbo as the compressor will have to fill more piping up eg:laggier, mayb have to go bigger to reduce the lag in long pipework Any ideas be great cheers Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Remote turbo's don't lag as much as everyone goes on about. Think of it this way, your 5L is twice the size of a RB25 and not quite twice an RB30. A 35/40 or even twin GT25s / twin T3's would be nice.

I'd use a GT30 possibly GT35 with a .82 rear.

Yea good point it should spool up quick due to the volume of exhaust gasses , don't require top end power 220rwkw be more than enough. Was only planning on running 8psi so it's reliable thort a gt35/40 wouldn't be in its efficiency range ?

Twin gt2860rs turbos would have barely any lag and give you good low and mid power.
