What are thoughts people on the VL scene ATM, I know it has been getting a lot harder to find nice stock vls but come on...
Its getting a lot harder to find good Vls in any badging. As I'm from melb maybe not so dry on the east-coast but here in WA it's looking pretty dry compared to two or 3 years ago. You could at any time jump on eBay or gumtree n find a dimond in the rough.
What are your thoughts people? Id like to hear them. It may just be me.
Took me awhile to find my car (Neat N/A 5spd)
Not really much to say other than VLs are getting pretty old now, so there's gonna be less and less neat untouched ones floating around as most of them have been snapped up and modified by now. I also think the fact that there's less around in general is all the hoon **** over the last few years. Most people don't want the headf*** that can come with a nice VL Turbo these days I guess, so they look for something newer and more powerful from factory to keep them entertained.
If others are more interested in newer; more powerful cars then that's great news for real VL fans.
I reckon it's mostly the fact that people can't be bothered taking them out these days or be bothered by cops, bla bla bla.
I remember it used to be quiet a few years ago then all of the sudden boom, some of the old ones began to re-emerge.
are you talking specifically for a turbo or n/a?
What price range?
I will find you 10 in a week, the only hard thing to find are HDT's but even they pop up if you know where to look and who to ask.
Truth be told unless you have the money ready to go, your wasting your time looking because in my experiences the good deals must be jumped on straight away and no point trying to get finance or seeing if friends/family can lend you money.
To sum it up, they are not being bought and sold as much as they were 4 years ago but good examples come up every week
I think the scene is loosing momentum because other car such as XR6 turbos are depriciating and you can pick one up for around the same price as a decent VL turbo.

True also come out with a lot more power standard then a vl
I agree with all the input. Katsa I'm just referring to the drop in numbers for sale. Seems to be sudden well in WA any way. I have never taken out a loan and don't ever plan to. I hate the thought of paying for money (interest).
Saving pays off. I haven't worked a day this year live out of home (karratha)payed off my current education, drove across Australia, going to Queensland and Fiji at the end of the year and no a single cent from the government.
Well that sucks as I don't need it but they wouldn't give me a cent any way as I save yet some one who blows all there cash and crys poor when the louse there job gets a hand out lol
Just hope there still good ones about when I go to buy one lol as I just sold a gem in melb
Now I sound like RB30DEVL
Took me 2 years and many cars to find my VL calais V8 Burgandy over silvier, with Fawn interior example... Yeah there are a few that come up every week for sale but Fark..... dont you have to siff through the **** to find a decent/nice one (one without a painted interior, all chrome still on the car ect...) there is just **** for sale at the moment with sky high prices.... if its under $10grand these days its either been converted turbo or its been ****ed with too much and just has ****house parts all over it...
My issue with VL's forsale... Alot of people are asking way too much for there vl's including n/a's. People seem to think, "hey i got a hacked up POS non turbs VL, but all these other guys are selling there VLT's for X amount so mine must also be worth 5k plus." Or there asking 7k for a n/a convert job witch was half assed all ways possible and it still needs body/ interior work.
I am more then happy to pay 8k for a factory VLT in decent condition. Not some rust bucket sl with a calais nose cone, ebay set up, welded diff and chopped springs.
Rant over
Oh! And almost all of them are being sold because these cheap skates cant afford reg
Some original photos have not been recovered yet.
^^ very true 1815261 and MUSone and they spend all there pocket centerlink cents and find out wow you need to run it on what fuel??
Im keeping my eyes open but im prepaird to wait it out. I cant be car and carreer focused at once n i know which one will pay off in the end
