hi all , have a question in regards to a vibration problem i am facing at the moment in my vlt , thought maybe someone has had this problem in the past and could point me into the direction of the fault
when driving between 2000rpm-3000rpm i get a viabration under the car ..... in saying that anything before 2000rpm or after 3000rpm and there is no issue , i find it quite strange to say the least
the car has a built protrans turbo 400 gear box and a single piece tailshaft , with the standard b/w diff
any help would be much appreciated !
just happened recently , every thing has been in the car for a long time now , like i was saying it only happens in the 2000-3000rpm range , any where under 2000 or over 3000 the car drives fine
yeah in park or neutral its fine no issues at all with it , its only when the car is driving in those rev ranges it has the vibration , its not a massive one but enough
may i add the car still shifts spot on between gears and so forth
if im driving at those revs , im fairly certian at the time it was constant just between those revs ..... i can specifically remembering it on that rev range , last time i drove it was the day it happened which was 3 weeks ago .... so i couldnt tell u if it came and went , it might of but i do remember it would be worse at times then others
i thought maybe it may be a mount or something tail shaft related
A few exhaust spots to check.
- panhard rod
- hitting the trans pan
- generally anywhere along the floor pan
- shagged cat convertor, makes a vibrating sound but wether you can feel it not sure.
- cracked trans mount
Those are just some problems ive had over the last 7 years with vls
