hey everyone,
As some of you know my car has been in build for quite a while, last obstacle is they declined my VX SS rims for the pits (too wide supposibly) so i'm after a set of legal Calais wheels i can buy/borrow for the pits?
obviously i'd prefer to borrow (for a carton of beer or something for the trouble) but will buy if extremely necessary.
I am needing them by Monday if possible
Cheers,
Inferno

I have a set of 4 Calais wheels you can borrow. Two have completely ****ed tyres but I have two spares. The other two tyres would be borderline
I'll check how much fat is left on the two decent ones. If its all good you can borrow them and fit the other tyres for me.
Let me know if Ol or Steve can't help you out, though it looks like all 4 are on the indicators or very close to. Still have two good tyres here though.
If you're stuck MSG me on [phone removed], I can send you pics of the condition of all 6 tyres.
i managed to grab enough (plus replacing a couple) so hopefully ill get away with it,although it looks like one has a buckle in it... i don't think an engineer would like a wheel wobble... waiting to see how it goes when driven.
ill let you guys know if i really get stuck.
cheers for your efforts tho i appreciate it

Out of curiosity would this work? Having never gone over the pits Ive wondered what they would say if you had mismatched tyres. Definitely not recommended but it certainly adheres to the laws.
i spoke to one of the tyre places and they said its just the front tyres that needs to be matching? although to me it is more logical to have front matching and back matching ? :S i'm just worried as i'd rather not have to go back to the engineer at such a price
I am driving to steves in 1 hr, message me on [phone removed] if you want me to bring 2x 215 r15 tyres up there for you. well above indicators and will likely never be used again.
That way you can meet me at steves at the same time, save you driving down to the better side of town.
