There is a guy on gumtree and eBay making rough copies of Tuff Mounts and selling them as the real deal... I had been talking to Chubby/Lowe Fabrications about buying a set of LS into VB-VS mounts when an ad come up on Gumtree for a new set at a cheaper price in the Liverpool area (Moorebank) where I was at the time. The same guy had a set of Commodore V8 Tuff Mounts as well and stated in both ads they were for sale due to a change of direction. I didnt think too much of the transaction until the same ad for both mounts popped up the following day. I got in touch with Chubby who looked at the ad and confirmed with Jason the owner that these mounts were not the real deal. I will post up some pics, but they are a shocking copy and are a different size/length with thinner steel in some places. I'd recommend anyone wanting them to deal with Velocityauto.com.au or Lowefabrications.com.au to save buying a 2nd set of mounts. Issues are: -Mounts are crooked -Bolt through bush is not as strong and longer than real ones -Base plate is warped -Welds are light -lower mount section from bush to cradle mounting is nearly 10mm too long Irregularities are the section of metal that sits against the kframe is one piece that is bent to shape, real are 2 pieces welded at join, bolts are 4.4 rating on fake. Notice in pic how bent it is..
