I'm moving to Australia in may. Does anyone have any experiences in freighting cars over seas etc. I want to take my Vs gts with me as they seem to sell for gold over there and not much here. Moving to Darwin which is even more isolated, dam dingos might get me!

True. Same line of work? Will you be having a big sell up bro? Mainfreight seems to be a good company to deal with. Haven't had any feedback about the others. You could check the petrolhead magazine. Couple of outfits advertise in there. If your gts has really low k's you'll be laughing.

Yeap same line of work, twice the pay though! And a free house. Have a few houses in nz that I will keep till I buy over there. Will be taking all my gear over to parts wise. The gts clicked over to 100,000kms last weekend.

Craig I am in the same boat at the moment,Will be looking at Rockhampton or Townsville. You will be hit quite heavy with the import tax as they protect there own Car market really good.I have found easier to bring the car into NSW have it registered their and then transport to Queensland. But that is for our wagon. Still decidding if it will come with us.We are also looking at doing this early in the new year if work falls over. Also twice the money for me there!!But if I can stay here I will. Cheers Marty

Yeap I get a free house and nearly double what I am on now. You can't tell me the cost of living will be double and with the free house well that is the icing on the cake. I may end up selling the GTS yet but only if it's worth it. I am the same that I would stay in NZ if I could but let's face it when I have kids they will probably end up over there anyway, anyway I can always come home if all fails.

I work over there regularly, the costs are higher to match the wage but it is a better step for getting ahead. Except for all the Aussies, I don't mind it

Didn't get an interview so looks like I'm staying! Oh well back to the drawing board, might have to go back milking cows! And working on the GTS.
