Has any1 used or using those rb30 solid billet machined engine mounts? If so do they make a difference in the way the car feels on the road? Uncomfortable? What sort of damage do they make on the chassis over time that you've experienced? Any info whatsoever as im thinking of installing them on my 400+rwkw vl. Thanks

I had solid mounts in my old car. I didnt like the excess vibration, it was annoying. I have rubber mounts in my vl with a chain on pass. side. Have done powercruise, 10 passes at the drags, and probably 10+ hours of dyno time, so far no broken mounts Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

I've got them on my new motor. Will let you know what they are like in a few weeks. Used them on the engine dyno and felt the motor while running and felt really smooth.

I've got 1 solid mount on the passenger side only, not a billet one its a hi density polypropylene with a 10mm x 75mm bolt though the lot, works a treat expecialy with the standard mount on the passenger side to help take the vibration..... And $20 win for me....

I have them and so far so good. They knock when you start the car. Purely the starter motor turning over. There fairly good however I havent street driven it. Track use only. Make sure you use locktight or nylon nuts as I had one fall off. Fortunately I notice it before my next drag run and have wince rectified the problem. I never broke a mount and had done 50+ drag runs and hours and hours of Dyno etc.

They're made by a mob called technico and they look quite good. Their description is informative too and at $95 im thinking that theyre a safe bet. I think i may go ahead after reading some of the replys. Cheers guys.

Yeh I've used them before and no probs. Just use lock nuts to secure no chances of failure.

Wow they're pricey! Do you have to solid mount the trans if you solid mount the engine?

^thats what I thought, very pricey!! Generally yes, but I'm running those solid mounts and it will be learning curve to see where the weaknesses are and what needs attention after some power gets put through it

imo only the passenger side mount needs to be done, however they dont really go under compression more so tension/torsion, so the material that the mount/spacer is made of doesnt mater its the bolt is what is taking all the force so a good high tensile one is needed. but even then on transbrake launches/high loads i have seen them bend and stretch the std plates which they bolt to. what i did was simply weld straps either side from the top of the engine mount to the bottom worked a treat.
