There can be a quick way to find out. With the ignition off. Remove one fuse at a time & place it back in. If you notice a little spark when placing the fuse back in that fuse would be drawing/draining the power from your battery. Find out what fuse it's for & that's where the power is being drawn. When I had a battery drain problem I couldn't find out where the power was being drawn from. In the end it was the central locking LOL. One of the locks was constantly holding the lock down. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

After looking at a diagram the ingnition switch sends power to the warning lights on dash and the alternator provides the earth to turn the alternator light on . So if light turns off when engine starts the alternator is doing what its supposed to i'd be looking at the contacts in the ing switch to make sure it's braking circut when turned off ---------- Post added 11-11-12 at 18:11 ---------- The ingnition is powered by the fuse links next to the battery so removing the fuses in the fuse box wont have any effect. Use a test light on back of ingnition switch the two pink wires should only be live in the run postion of the key
