Picked up this wagon last weekend. It is a genuine lw5 plated 86 berlina turbo wagon with red interior and all power options except power windows. My plans for this one is a tidy up and keeping it original as possible. It is very staright and doesnt look like it has ever been in an accident but is in need of typical vl rust repairs. It has been sitting outside under a tree for a while so it needs a good tidy up and eventually a respray because the paint is just starting to craze. I still have 6 months till full licence so no rush to get it on the road, but going to start tidying it up and get it ready for rego.

I am after a red sl/berlina steering wheel to replace the aftermarket one.

22-06-14, 21:46 GMT+10#10 Its been a long time since an update so here is how the wagon has been going.
Got it on the road in late december and i always thought there was a problem in the headgasket department so shortly after getting it on the road the head came off for a look and i found that some genius had put a 1.6mm decomp plate in the a8 with just using one gasket on top of the plate which explaned alot, so got it all back together and has been running great since.
the plan is to take it off the road again later this year for a restoration including a full respray and rebuild engine and trans which are starting to show there 300thou km age but for now just cruising it round and enjoying it. Also brought a set of aeros for another project but had them on this for a while but it is back on turbo hubcaps now.

24-06-14, 16:12 GMT+10#14 I think the main reason it got taken off the road was because of the head gasket issues because the head looked like a fresh reco. I am happy I saved it and it didnt become a parts car.
