Differance in steering shaft length?

hi all is there a differance in steering shaft length between vb to vn ?

Which shaft? Column, intermediate shaft, rack.....

the shaft that joins the rack to the colum, the one with uni joint.

Yes. The vb - vk intermediate shaft is to long to fit to a vl rack. U need a vl intermediate because its shorter. I had a vk intermediate shaft and tried to use it on my vl manual rack. Its so long that the uni joint was touching the rack shaft. U cant get the knuckle on the rack. So i swapped the knuckles from the vl power steering intermediate shaft with the vk manual steering intermediate shaft. Now the vl shaft is the right length (short) with a manual knuckle. Hope that made sense.

How hard is it to remove the uni joints on a intermediate shaft? & can you buy replacement uni"s new?
