G'day Does anyone on here run a power steering cooler on their vls? I have boiled ps fluid in one of my previous cars so im thinking about running one on my wagon. Another though I had was since my car is manual - is there any reason not to use the factory auto trans cooler in the radiator? ( flushed out first ofcorse) Thoughts? cheers

No, but I would go for a separate unit if you really need it. Manual trans cooler probably isn't necessary unless you're doing endurance racing?

i mean acctualy use the auto trans cooler part of the radiator as a power steering cooler (as its not being used atm)

Just thinking Jack. I know you said you boiled it once before, but that wasn't in a VL. Is it really necessary at all to do? i've never heard of anyone boiling VL PS fluid... maybe on a track, but even then... Surely the minor decrease in temperature using the method you suggest would be more detrimental in terms of water temps (very slight increase due to proximity to another warm fluid) than it would be in terms of performance gain...

I am thinking of using a VS tranny cooler for this job. Thoughts?

the idea creates another thing to go wrong: cooler, lines, connections waste of time and money and totally unnecessary
