Hey guys in a bit of a pickle,
I have a built rb26/30 about to go in my r32 GTR
Wondering what peoples thoughts are on these turbos and which is the bigger as they have similar specs.
I currently have a Mr turbo s72-GTS and am a bit worried my .81 rear housing would be too small.
So either change the rear to a .96 or or change to the precision 7175.
The only reason I'm considering the change is there are plenty of proven results for the 7175 ie powertunes r34 making around the 600awkw mark which is around my aim.
Any help or even info on the Mr turbo s72-GTS would be greatly apprenticed.
I know wizbiki (black calais) from the forums used this turbo as I bought this off him.
I Will be running e85,id2000 injectors, twin bosch 044 and tomei intank pump as hoping to really use the turbo with a good amount of boost.

Without the compressor measurements can't really say.
Best bet is to call Mr Billet and get the answer straight from him.
If it was me, I would leave it as it, run it up and see how you go. If you fall a little short you will still have 500+ to play with while you sort out all the little bugs.

Don't know much about Mr turbo's billet turbo's. But the precision turbo's are a big rave in the states. Suppose to be pretty good.

The Mr Turbo unit and the precision you mentioned are almost exactly the same size, why dont you just get a bigger rear housing for the billet? If your turbo blows up or you shred it on the quarter the precision is going to be a real PITA to get rebuilt or replaced, but the billet is pretty cheap to get rebuilt. If i was you and i desperately wanted a precision i'd get the 7675 CEA. The increased lag over the 7175 will be un-noticable on a built 26/30 and you'll be good into the 1100hp range if you decide to cram that much boost in it.

Hmm definitely given me a lot to think about,
I'll see how it goes,
Previously made 450kw on 18psi pump fuel
But have now beefed up the fuel system and going to run e85.
Forgot to mention this is in my weekend street r32 GTR so don't want to go to big of a turbo although not sure how laggy that 7675 would be.espec in a manual.

Only around 50hp according to both companies specs. I havent seen a back to back test done but it would be interesting to see, especially when mark at mr turbo gets his billet turbine wheel units going

lol, ones underated and ones over rated........the precision 71 wheel flows more than a 74GTS...aka GT4202...
and 71's on 2Js fully setup have gone 1000rwhp(lol rated at 985hp), albeit thats the top dogs...a 72GTS woudn't get anywhere near that..
same turbines..different comp wheels, being ETT the 72 is probally a borg warner part.
cheers

see that one..thats the old precision 71GTS..which is the fore father of the new one and
the turbo that "started" this billet craze, it a KKK wheel/borg warner

Easily curved my decision Towards the billet and also confirmed my theory with the turbos.
Thanks mate

What do you think of the 76GTS vs the PT7675? That was what i was deciding on but i cant really justify the price difference (quoted $2400 for the billet, 3900 for the PT) that and the billets are rebuild-able, but the precisions have to get sent off somewhere (just judging this based on the 6766 that the fella with the 3.4L stroker blew up on the dyno)
Also i thought Mr turbo Billet compressor wheels were machined in house?

04-11-12, 01:38 GMT+10#18 Pigsy what are the main differences between the cast wheels & the billet wheels. Are the Torrence's any different?

05-11-12, 20:47 GMT+10#19 if they are designed the same..theres no difference, making them in billet saves on tooling and gets them out on the market quicker...that is all...
rest is hype..if the wheels flow more..its the re-design, nothing to do with billet
Be interesting to see what mr.turbo come up with
cheers
