Manual Gearbox on my N/a r33 has about had it And all any I can find for sale are turbo boxes so I was wondering will a turbo box work and will it also be better! Thanks Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

I'm pretty sure that the MX7 turbo box will be more than strong enough for an RB25DE engine, you probably will never have to replace it, providing the MX7 box you are fitting is in good condition. While you're at it , you'd be better off getting the turbo clutch kit for an RB25DET engine and getting the flywheel machined because the turbo box input shaft splines are different to that of a non turbo box, all the RB20 through to RB30E engines use the same flywheel, the RB30ET is the only one that uses a bigger diameter flywheel. The speed sensor shouldn't be a drama ,should be just a straight plug in fit as all the R33 RB25 manuals use the same diff ratio (4.11:1), all other reverse switches ,etc should just plug in providing the loom length allows. You'd have to check out the difference between tailshafts too, I think the tailshaft yoke may be different to that of a non turbo model, the tailshaft length may be different too. Make sure the turbo gearbox comes with the slave cylinder because they are different to the ones in the non turbo box and aren't interchangeable, otherwise you will have to find one. I had that drama fitting an RB25DE box with the speedo drive to an RB30DE engine because 1- the R33 unit is electronic and 2 - I had to modify an RB30E unit to accept the electronic RB25DE drive gear and 3 - I had to get CRS (Castlemaine rod shop) to make up a converter box to suit the VL Commodores speedo. I didn't want to pull the gearbox apart to swap the worm gear over to the RB30E type so I can use the RB30E speedo gear. You don't have to go to all of that trouble with your car but.
