hey guys, new to this site, there is probably 100 other threads about this but i just want some straight answers to a few questions i have. i bought an 86' vl, n/a, auto rust in usual spots but un=molested, not even 1 extra wire run which is somethin ive never seen lol anyway, i have purchased a vlt disc brake diff with 4'11's, turbo auto gbox, tailshaft and an engine with ecu, piggy back computer and wiring harness, what id like to know is... car wiring - will i need the rest of ther cars wiring to make it work? brakes - with the vlt diff i have already, should only need to upgrade the fronts to vlt/vlv8 discs/rotors n change the master cyl over to 1 inch for passing engineering? converter- anyone recommend a good sized stall? i will be manualising the box and doing the engine up (forgies, cam, port polish/fuel upgrades/turbo upgrade/ 3" exaust) any help will be much appreciated Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

ct doesn't have hard or fast rules more like hard and fast guidelines the best bet is to be more specific what canvas are you starting with and what do you want to end up with along with other things such as are you doing it all at once or in pieces etc but to answer your question the car wiring and engine wiring are different if you have the wires for the piggy back ecu and a new ecu then no you will not need the other wiring. for the brakes your on the money but seeing your already gonna have to change front discs and calipers along with the master cylinder id recommend going the vt brake upgrade you will need it if you go further with the car so it saves double dipping converter well that's a question to ask after you decide what your doing with the build my self I'm running a 3300 converter with a wade 1147c cam and a gt35/40 with a .82 rear it's more then cranky but comes on like an absolute animal in saying that I can cruise the car quite easily. it all depends

@ Turismo, wasnt meaning to give attitude, but after 11 days, 200 n something views and not one comment for just a little bit of advice, what would you think............ @Pro747, basically ill be doing it all at once, so while car is at body shop ive been stockpiling bits and pieces for the engine etc so i can build it while waitin for the body. the car is a bog stock standard 1 owner executive, n/a, auto, single spinner. im aiming for a respectable, bulletproof, quick street car. car is just going to be plain white, no kit, lowered over a set of momo star 16" wheels ive had sittin for a while, going for the sleeper look, too much attention only draws the wrong kind of attention from the cops. parts accumulated so far are mini spooled turbo diff with 4'11s, jatco 4spd auto, a8 turbo engine with harness, computer and chiptorque piggy back, calais seats and instrument cluster rear lights and garnish, 3" 1 piece tailshaft, bilstein springs, shocks, strut brace and sway bars, adjustable panhard rod, full super pro bush kit for whole car. i have seen the vt brake upgrade and will be heading down that path. ive been on spool imports and am looking at the billet main caps, rb30 rebuild kit with rods, bearings, forgies, cometic head gasket, oil pump with billet gears.they also do cams and was looking at one that works from 3000 to 7500 rpm, so was thinking of 3200/3500 stall im looking at the same turbo as you, possibly on a quickspool manifold and a plenum from the same mob. when it all comes together, it should be alot of fun

If its a genuine 86' engine, bin it. To much of a headache to turbo them.. Unless you know what your doing and have done it before. Buy a n/a engine from a 87 or 88 vl. Preferably buy a a8 with all the goodies Some original photos have not been recovered yet.
