Hey guys I'm having an autometer gauge cluster (rev, speed, fuel, auto temp) put in place of my factory instrument cluster and I've been informed that you can not run an auto meter fuel level gauge with the standard fuel sender in the vl fuel tank. Has anyone come across this problem and if so how did you overcome the issue? Peter

If you get the electrical one you can just have to get one in the correct ohm range then tap it into the sender wire from your tank haynes manual tells u the ohm range so suss that out and order one for that range

Yep.. stuffed my Fuel Gauge in the VL by hooking up the 0-90ohm fuel sender in the Fuel Cell up to it.. lol. Autometer Fuel Gauges / Autometer Fuel Level Senders = 0-90ohm VL Fuel Gauge / VL Fuel Level Sender = 45-280ohm (or something like that).

Autometer do not offer a gauge to work with our senders..... But let me go down to Aisat on Tuesday to see if they can make some sort of signal converter other wise ill have to change the sender unit.....

Im also really keen to know what the go is aswell. Im thinking my next project will be to make a whole new cluster out of Drift Iridium gauges: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6iufSA_vmuE&NR=1 Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Youre paying the same money for 4 gauges you could get a racepac dash or the likes that tells you so so so much more. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JW6GV7e0784

So I rang Steff and basically you have no choice but to modify the sending unit he can supply one so all you have to do is swap it out.

i guess it depends on the look youre going for. The racepac/motec and so on looks more racecar. I like them better because racecar. only thing i can see is the racepac dosnt keep an OD reading that is needed for roadworthy? does the autometer? in the youtube vid of the Drift Iridium gauges they do.
