Hi everyone, so this is my first ever thread on CT, but hope you like it anyway. As a request by vanstrein (a fair time ago) ive finaaly decided to put a thread up of my current and ongoing Vl calais build. at the moment the main thing has been a respray and rust removal. Theres a lot of photos so ill put them up as i get time . Its currently still in the process but should be finished (exteriorly atleast) in the coming weeks. I live in qld and cant have a high power vehicle at the moment, but that will be coming in the near future. Hope you enjoy. Car Details: Genuine Vl calais Colour: Blue metallic (original) currently blue/purple metallic with lilac pearl clear coat NA 3.0L engine Lowered suspension, not sure hwat it is, was in it before i got it (coils soon) Series 1 interior (cerulian blue) Auto, recently converted to manual Power: not enough Current mods: Lukey extractors, hi flow cat, lukey cat back exhaust, 19" SSV rims (currently not on), Alpine head unit, pioneer 6x9s and 10" sub Before: Respray So let the progress begin: The first thing to do was get the windscreens out and get rid of all that oh so common vl rust. And the Work continues, after taking the windows out and cutting the rust away the next thing to do was weld in the replacement panel sin the sills. Grinding the welds back: Heres some of the rust that was in the back: Also the reason why the different coloured boot is on the car is because, lets just say i had a meeting with an inconveniently placed pole. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.
