I've come over for a Holliday and I've noticed you guys are paying $2.20+ for petrol (91ron) and $1.60 for diesel. Is this normal or is their some kind of shortage over here?? $1.50 for premium is expensive back home!

its mostly tax here, i guess the trade off is we can do pretty much anything to the cars and still be road legal.

AUD1.50 is equal to NZD1.90 and the additional 0.30/litre is probably mostly to do with the fact we live further away from the source and consume a lot less than Australia

Ours average about $230-$280 dollars. And what do you pay for insurance,I can tell you mine for classic cover for 70-80k value(HDT)is $140 a year To keep a Brock and insured over there would cost me appox 1800-2200k a year over there,Plus we don't pay Goverment tax when we buy a car here when we transfer the ownership papers,About 11 bucks to change papers I think. But again most of our fuel cost is goverment grab, and it is what it is. Cheers Marty
