hey guys, im fairly new to the VL scene, and ive seen on a lot of threads that have people are talking about different engine types, one being A6 (or something like that) and another being A8. Could someone explain the difference between the two, if one is better than the other etc. I checked my ID plate and the motor in my VL is an A8. Cheers. ---------- Post added 14-09-12 at 18:08 ---------- just realised, i havnt checked my engine number, the A8 on the ID badge indicates that its an exec, my mistake.

There could have been a few at the end of 1986 that had the oil and water holes. Also there could be a different engine in your car.

You can drill and tap them.

When drilling and tapping them wouldn't shavings go into the block?

I wouldn't do it by choice, but it can and has been done.

There are other places you can get an oil and water supply from anyway. I haven't done it but I believe you can put a T peice on the oil pressure sensor - have a read here http://www.calaisturbo.com.au/showthread.php?t=4362
