My 304 isn't running the best since putting it back on the road after many years so took it to a local performance shop and got quoted $2100 for the following work
Rebuild fuel injectors
Upgrade exhaust to 3inch with High flow cats
Tidy up some fuel line hoses
Fix power steering pump seal
I think it's an alright price but what are your thoughts?

Exhaust would be $1200 if it's twin high flow cats into single 3 inch
With mandrel bends.

new injectors $400
new steering pump $180
two hi flow cats $260
twin exhaust cat back well depends on exhaust there's plenty off shelf items around $$$???
labor $600+easy???
for that price of $2100 id be wanting new parts not just replacing a seal on the pump plus i would want a good service to.
you could install injectors and power steering pump yourself within an hour easy witch would cut labor down to just the exhaust
and also on another note will a twin 3 inch be overkill on your car ?

Are you saying 2 X 3" hi flow cats are $260 for the pair? what shop are you going to?
I could have done everything myself however I'm sick of farking around with it and would rather have it right so I can enjoy my sunday drives in it plus it desperately needs a tune
3 Inch suits the 5L well with the correct system on it, I guess I'll be the judge when I get it back next week.
The exhaust was originally quoted at $1500 alone and that was a price from 2 other shops as well (give or take $80)

Ebay for cats.....twin 3 inch on 5ltr will equal loss of power and to much noise but its ur car and choice

Each to their own but

I agree with NASTY1, i got 2 Stainless Magnaflow 3.5" hi flow cats for that price from the US.
And what is rebuild injectors?
The price is very subjective based on the exhaust you are going to end up with.
My advice
Order new injectors - (Or i have OEM ones i no longer need ill post to you for cheap) Thats if that is your problem.
Order your cats, muffler and resinator off summit. Get them to just do the pipework. (x2 2.5" cats, x1 3" muffler, x1 3" resinator) <$550 delivered for stainless magnaflow items.
And seal kit for your pump is like 15 bucks.

I've got a dyno sheet before and will get one after, have a guarantee if it doesn't work or if it's not to my liking it will be changed to a 2.5 two into one.
No skin off my nose either way really , oh and I wouldn't buy any performance parts off fleabay....what a suckers game that is and you deal with farkwits half the time

13-09-12, 20:02 GMT+10#14 We must all be suckers then....i know i live on ebay have purchased awesome bargains and also sold lots of gear aswell.
What shop told you this about the twin 3 inch.i know for a fact some decent headers with twin hi flow cats into a single over the diff and into a nice resinator will work better.been there done that...

Apparently it's cheap in Adelaide
Be careful saying 'All of us' as some of us aren't besides the question wasn't whether you think what I'm getting done is right for the car or not otherwise I would of put the full specs up of motor and the rest of the running gear and then you could judge me based on that not go off half ****ed with your opinion without having the whole story.
I would have been happy to list what is has and taken advice from there but thats not what I'm asking
It could be twin turboed for all you know dude

Good answers require good questions
