Im looking to buy a car from the wreckers, fix it up as a weekend project and hopefully get it registered and drive it around.
Does anyone know anything about the NSW Notice of disposal etc etc (The stuff you have to do when buying or selling a car). In particular in regards to purchasing a car from a wrecking yard with the purpose of getting it registered.

I'd be assuming the car will have no number plates and be unregistered
if so just get a receipt from the wrecker, incl all the cars details like engine and chassis #
when/if you ever go to register it take that along to the RMS once you have a blue and green slip.
the blue slip guy will fill out most of the paperwork as part of his inspection job anyway
but make sure when you buy it that it isn't a stat or repairable write off because that can cause all sorts of problems and even make it impossible to ever register

Awesome. So basically all I need is a receipt from the wreckers, no other paper work or anything?

buying a car w/out any plates or rego is just like buying a bicycle or a t.v.
simply get a receipt from the seller to prove ownership and purchase
