Hey guys, recently bought my 1st VL. Car runs smooth as hell, except for the gearbox (I think) When I change from 1st to 2nd, I hear a lot of clunking underneath, and in the back end which might be the diff on it's way too. Also when changing down from 4th, all the way thru, the gearstick itself give a bit of a shove and sometimes I have to double clutch it to get it to change down. Any thoughts guys??? I'm not very knowledgable with VL's and with gearboxes, so any help is appreciated. Cheers

Cheers Take it down to your local gearbox shop or mechanic mate, nobody can tell you what's wrong with it without hearing what's going on

First thing to do would be to change the oil, go with the syntrans oil. It sounds like suncro's, possibly even a loose uni giving you the clunking. Cheapest option to start is the oil though.

Got me f**ked what it is now if it's not low on tranny oil

I was having a few issue's changing into gears. Gear stick was stiff/hard to change into gears. I know 88chaser won't like me saying this but I placed some Redline lightweight shock proof gearbox oil in. Made gear shifting noticeably smoother. Also see if you car has a adjustable mater cylinder push rod. Give it a few turns so your clutch disengages better. http://www.redlineoil.com/product.aspx?pid=43&pcid=8
