guys just wanted advice to save time and stuffin around. i have worked at subaru for 6-7 yrs in total and can perform pretty much any mod or engine removal procedure on these things blindfolded. but...... when it comes to my pet project i need input guys... i have my auto now and engine hasnt finished being built yet. should i wait till engine is ready to drop in and mate them together then drop them in as one like the workshop manual says? or drop engine in 1st, then put the auto in and mate together or..... put the auto in and have a spare jack under the bellhousing so i can control the height and then drop engine in and use jack to line up and blah blah blah.... thanks guys.

Yeah do it all at once imo, saves the hassle of lining up convertor/gearbox underneath the car

Get a friend to give you a hand and put them in together

I vote putting them in together also... thats the way ive always done it and will be doing again this friday. But what you really want is a threaded leveller to be able to control the angle as your slinging it in. Makes it easier having the front jacked up while your lowering it in too if you dont have a hoist.

I've also done it both ways. Don't put them in separately, to much headache mating together, not to mention with no room to do it in. Get a hand and do it in about half n hour.
