To start my car i have to hold the button on the key while turning it in the ignition, can anyone tell me what the problem is and how to fix it?

Might be the key head buggering up mate
Because when you get a new key done you have to put they key in the ignition press lock/unlock then start to program it thats my vx but should be the same key as you's
Buy a key head off ebay get it programed and give it a go

Try bending the metal tabs on ignition outwards slightly , don't b rough tho .
