Last weekend I was on a cruise and Due to not having a hand brake at the moment, I was just leaving it in 1st to stop it rolling away... After the 3rd stop I got in to leave and I pulled it out of 1st, put it in reverse, reversed out of the park and then when I moved the shifter out of reverse it locked up! I couldn't move it anywhere. So I got the boys to rock the car backwards and forwards and then it came free but now it won't go in to 5th at all! I've given the box a bit of a hard time.. Limiter dropping 3rd powerskids and limiter dropping 1st with slicks at the drags etc. Is it time for me to start saving for an R33 box conversion? Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

I had similar happen to my MX7 at one stage. Gave it a thrashing at PowerCruise - came off the track and went to wash the car. Put it in reverse and it wouldn't come out. Shifter was very very stiff to move (took both hands).. After a little bit it let out a crunch and free'd up. As I moved it into 5th on the highway it started to stiffen up a bit, so just used it as a 4 speed box for a few years. Abused it and sold it as a "broken 5th gear box" for cheap. Apparently the new owner of the box put it in and said there wasn't any issues with the box... ??
