It should have a big C shaped clip with curled ends that clip it onto the fork. From memory, the "shaft" of the the throwout bearing goes between the prongs of the fork, with the C shaped clip holding it there (and allowing it to move). So, flat bearing face goes against the clutch. Post again if you need more help.

In this picture the depression filled with reddish/brown grease between the two thin strips of wire sites over the little dome screw to the left of the big shaft. When you put it on, give it a tap and it will clip on. And not come off unless you forcefully pull on it. In this picture the wire springs on either side slide over the prongs of the fork. So, bring the clutch fork towards the throwout bearing from the side. There should be a small hole in each prong of the fork for the clip on the throwout bearing to hook into. That should let you know which way is correct. So: bearing onto fork, fork through bellhousing, fork/bearing over shaft, fork clips onto dome screw. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.
