Hey Everyone,
Over the past few years ive been building my VLCT and it came time to fire it up and drive it out of the shed to give it a wash and the car wont move when I put it in gear. Whilst I had it up on the axel stands I fired it up and put it into gear and the rear wheels spun with a few revs whilst raised. But now that I have put it on the ground it wont move.
Has anybody got any ideas as to what the problem may be?
check your shifter cable... you might have the car not grabbing a gear properly and be getting stuck, This is a common problem. what shifter do you have anyways?
Rebuilt jatco box with 2800 stally which was all working fine before I took the car off the road... Had a quicksilver shifter installed while the car was off the road. If it wasnt grabbing why would the wheels spin whilst raised but not when on the ground?
Check trans level before starting and again once running it should drop a little, as it has been sitting for some time the trans charge pump could be struggling to pick up oil to fill the convertor hence no drive as no fluid link to transfer the mechanical energy

i had a similar problem with mine and really had to hit the gears hard to make it grab the gear properly until i played around with the shifter cable and finally picked them all up properly.
