Did they make vls in 1989? i see them on the internet yet ive allways throught they stopped at 1988, even Wikipedia says they stopped at 1988.
The reason im asking is im looking at a 1989 vl station wagon on trademe and throught i would look into it.
Anyone know

It will be New Zealand assembled and most likely very late in the production run.
If it sat on a Dealers yard for afew months it may not have been registered until 89 so the stupid post office workers would have called it an 89...

Where does Carjam call it a VN?
The small picture is of a VN but I don't physically see the letters "VN" used anywhere
Carjam states the Chassis number of which the last digit is L indicating VL
Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Maybe they are refferring to the date it was first registered as opposed to the date it was manufactured?
