What is the minimum fall on a turbo oil drain?
I just finished installing all the turbo gear ready for exhaust and cooler piping tomorrow. I noticed the turbo oil drain is practically level with the bung in the side of the block. So in theory the only fall is what is internally in the block. Will this become a problem? I really cant be bothered removing the sump to drill one lower.

Shouldn't be a problem. Unless you don't have oil pressure LOL. I think if the drain hose & re-stricter plate was to big or small you might have a few issue's.

Most turbo manufacturers have specs available for this.

Oil pressure has no bearing on this at all. No pun intended
The way i read this is your saying the turbo drain is at 90 degrees as soon as it exists the centre cartridge and then travels horizontally a distance 'x' which you havent specified back to the block.
In a gravity fed drain its not advisable to have the drain horizontal at any point so i would be putting it back in lower. Also if the centre cartridge is at an angle you should have the water lines orientated so the cool side is on the 'low side' going in to promote thermosiphoning after shutdown.
Edit: Just realised this was like 3 weeks ago... probably too late
