Hi peeps,
as the title says, what gearbox crossmember, if any, allows my turbo 350 to bolt into my vl behind a 304. Also are vk and vl v8 k-frames identical (as in engine mounts position?). Can't see why they wouldn't be. Much appreciated in advance. Cheers

trimatic crossmember works but i had to lengthen the plate that holds the rubber mount to the auto. make sure you get a vl crossmember as the floor pan is different from vb-vk

the k frames are actually not the same yes the mounting points for the engine mounts are the same but steering rack mount points are different.
all depends what steering rack ur gonna run bud if your going a vn which is what is recommended for best extractor clearance then you cant use a vk k-frame as the mount points are slightly wider or narrower cant remember so power steering rack wont bolt up but any k-frame from vn up to vs v8 will be fine. im not sure about vl's though from memory they might be the same as vn onwards someone else might be able to clarify

Yep, VL steering rack mounts are the same as VN onwards

Okay thanks for the replies guys. I wanted to run a manual steering rack so i thought i should just be able to chase up a vk manual one and run that in the vl. I think a vl v8 k-frame might be the way to go though as clearance is pretty tight with the vk rack

if you run a vk rack in the vl. i think you will need to run a vk steering colum . just easier to source a vl rack and shaft
