does much go wrong with manual steering racks? , is it worth getting a reco one or a 2nd hand one?

just get 2nd hand one that has intermediate shaft. they are very basic to fix

its really whatever you want mate... daily driver or basic setup = power steer.
Anything with decent performance go a manual rack

rang so many commodore wrekers for a vl manual steering rack.
had no luck.
does a vh or a vk rack fit in a vl ????????

I would like to know too, i have a manual steering rack and Intermediate shaft from my VL, would this fit into my VB?

i think if you run a vl rack in a vb you would need to use a vl steering column

I myself liked having no power steering, it felt very raw and you could feel everything in the steering, it would also snap back into opposite lock very quickly when sideways. Bad points are it can be a handful at times to the point where it can over power you lol, but that was probably my drivings fault....

if u are fitting a vl manual steering rack and shaft to vb-vk u will need to put a vn v8 kframe in it if your putting an rb30 into a vb-vk u will need to use a vl kframe

HAHA mate could not of said it better myself i have a manual rack in my VL and it has a 355 stroker in it it can be a handful sometimes but i like the feel myself only problem i find is when parking its a little hard and trying to turn on the spot with the car not moving LOL
I search every place in town to get one the place i found that a couple is V6 Converstions in Moree got his add out of Street Commodores his web site is

They are not so heavy in a VL V8 and one less belt on the crank is a good thing.
