dunno scats are only rated to around 800hp, most of the cheap h beam rods on the market are made in china anyway!! i wouldnt push any h beam rod over 800hp, unless its a carrillo, you need something made from a quality billet to start with look at all the usa big name brands like howards, oliver, carrillo, all made in the us using usa grade steel not china grade made from our scrap steel, i pushed mine past this and was lucky it held as ive seen a couple let go!!

yeah i know all about rods as i used to make them remember haha, I just havent really looked into scat rods and what they can handle. I will run the car as is and see what i decide later on. I was thinking of using a conrod from greece, they are made from 5140 grade billet steel rather then 4340 like the american rods. They are rated to 300hp per rod and make there own bolts to suit.

spool, scat, rev etc etc are all the same... i made 598 kw at the wheels with 40 plus pound of boost, they wil go past the power rating but not for long as i found out the hard way.... manley make a really good rod to, as do nitto as they handle 2000hp supposably, cant go past carrillo with the carr bolts tho

the spool rods seem better than the scat and there locally made. the vl with the ba falcon engine has spool rods and has made 990 rwhp but has made a best of 1134 rwhp in a skyline and another supra made 1034 rwhp. for the cheap price i dont think you can go wrong but then again its up to the owner on what brand he wants. heres some of the cars they have done. http://www.spoolimports.com/project-cars

I had spools in mine few years back and pulled them out and went to Howards. Don't know if there've change since? but the ones back then looked really cheap and had a fair bit of movement in the twist test... Any rod will take X amount of horsepower but for how long is the question??? Tubbed1-jake found this out the hard way snapping a rod and putting oil under slicks resulting in putting the car on it's roof.. it's a lot cheaper to spend the extra 600-1000$ first off then replacing cars or your life Corran
